Ain’t that the truth. Then again, they did tout that the GT72/80 laptops were upgradable... Before they hit a roadblock when the MXM 10x0 modules wouldn’t work without a significant modification to power and cooling.

So they moved to dismiss? That’s standard practice even if they plan to solve the problem somehow, it likely just whittles down which specific legal claims they face. In fact, if they voluntarily recalled them and did whatever fix it is you want, their motion to dismiss would probably be stronger, not weaker, because they resolved the alleged harm.

I thought so too, but not only was the trade-in program a serious hot mess, but a completely different company started work on trying to fix MSi’s laptops.

I didn’t say they were going to have a recall or whatever—I have no idea—just that a motion to dismiss is standard practice and doesn’t say anything about their attitude toward the problem. They have a deadline after the complaint is filed to answer it or move to dismiss it in whole or part. This is more or less my area of practice, for what it’s worth.
